The Cairns and District Junior Eisteddfod is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the Junior Performing Arts in Far North Queensland. From our humble beginnings over 57 years ago to the present, we are a committed and dedicated group of people who work hard, and freely give up their time to put together an Eisteddfod of quality that is a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all concerned. The Eisteddfod is an essential mechanism for local Schools and the likes of Dance schools & Music teachers to profile their students and enable them valuable experience in public performance. Benefits of Eisteddfods="style92">he Eisteddfod provides an opportunity for individuals to gain experience by performing to the public while polishing their skills and gaining knowledge and valuable experience by participating in all areas of the program. For many it is a stepping stone to greater things. The on">Cairns and District Junior Eisteddfod hosts a competition that is widely recognised and respected. The Eisteddfod is held annually offering competitive sections for all types and styles of Dance, Vocal, Instrumental, Literary, Speech and Drama,. For several weeks each year, participants compete and perform, covering the full spectrum of the performing arts.
The competitors benefit via competition, not only are their artistic skills improved, but also confidence, poise, commitment and self esteem, skills which they will later take into the community with them.

How does the eisteddfod contribute to the community?

it encourages practice and public performance in voice and instrument as soloist or group member,
